Surt Farm

The Sturt Farm Cottage dates from the 17th Century and still retains much of its original character. From the house it is possible to walk across fields, through woodland or beside the stream. Detailed maps are available for the adventurous.

The farmhouse accommodation is spacious. It can sleep up to 12 in 5 bedrooms. All beds are single and have duvets and pillows. Linen is provided. The bathroom is upstairs and a shower room and two further toilets are situated on the ground floor. A washing machine, tumble drier and drying space are provided.

The kitchen contains an electric cooker, microwave oven, fridge freezer, dishwasher and a full range of crockery and cutlery. The large pine kitchen table can seat up to 12. There is a large enclosed garden with garden chairs and a barbecue...

There is a log burner in the comfortable main sitting room which contains a TV and DVD player and payphone. (01454 294379). The house is fully centrally heated and prices include all fuel costs.

How To Get There

 

From North

  • Leave M5 junction 14.
  • Follow signs to Wotton-under-Edge/Yate.
  • At T junction turn right towards Cromhall (B4509). Then take the next turning left towards Wickwar.
  • Travel into village of Wickwar.
  • Bear left - do not enter Wickwar through traffic lights.
  • Take the next turning right to Inglestone Common / Hawkesbury Upton.
  • Follow road for approximately 2 miles until you reach a cattle grid. Cross grid and immediately turn right.
  • You are now at the entrance to Sturt Farm.
  • Follow the driveway until you see the farmhouse.

From South / East / West

  • M4 towards Bristol to London.
  • Leave at junction 18 for Bath / Stroud
  • travel along A46 towards Stroud / Cirencester.
  • Follow signs to Chipping Sodbury (left at lights).
  • Once you are in Chipping Sodbury High Street, turn right at signs towards Wickwar.
  • Follow road into Wickwar village, go through traffic lights, down small hill and then take next right turn marked to Inglestone Common / Hawkesbury Upton.
  • Follow road for approximately 2 miles until you reach a cattle grid. Cross grid and immediately turn right.
  • You are now at the entrance to Sturt Farm.
  • Follow the driveway until you see the farmhouse.
